Natalia 'Natasha' Mingin
and Douglas Ramstad
Natalia "Natasha" Mingin and Douglas Ramstad will marry Sept. 30, 2006 at Mount Vernon Commons clubhouse in Anchorage.
Natasha and Doug met through a mutual friend, Inna, on Thanksgiving in 2005. At that time, Natasha lived in Laurinburg, N.C. A month later, she was back to Anchorage to spend Christmas with Doug. Before Christmas Eve, he gave her a diamond ring and proposed to her on bended knee. Doug received a promise ring from her as a token of love and devotion.
Natasha is the daughter of Lidia and Vladimir Cherentsov of Irkutsk, Russia. She graduated from the College of Arts in 1987 and from the University of Foreign Languages in 1993 with a degree in teaching. Natasha plays the piano, sings and performs as a member of Russian American Colony Singers. She has a daughter, Iana, and enjoys traveling, hiking, gardening, animals, nature, parties and handicrafts.
Doug is a graduate of Chugiak High School and attended the University of Alaska Anchorage and colleges in Washington, studying engineering. His was a welder/fabricator from 1974 to 2001 and a hairdresser in Eagle River from 1988 to 1992. Doug enjoys riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, fishing, camping, sightseeing and spending time with his six children: Terra, Tiffany, Trina, Taylor, Faith and Evan.
The couple will have a traditional American wedding with elements of Russian culture. Meg Girard of Eagle River will officiate. Natasha and Doug plan to honeymoon in Russia.
